Springtime is Dr. Tae Yun Kim’s favorite time of year. So much is going in her garden! Can you guess what is breaking through the ground here?
Dr. Tae Yun Kim tells the following story at Jung Suwon, and during her lectures.
As a small child, Dr. Tae Yun Kim’s father would often kick her out of the house, when he was drunk. And he got drunk a lot, because in the Korean culture at the time, having a daughter as the firstborn child, was incredibly bad! Horrible! Unthinkable! So, he blamed his little daughter for his bad luck, and abused her on a daily basis.
One particularly cold winter night, as the future Dr. Tae Yun Kim sat outside, shivering, she looked up into the starry sky. She called herself the stargazer, because that is what she did!
Later on in life, Dr. Tae Yun Kim learned that there was a very special fragrant flower, called Stargazer! And so that is what she calls her estate now, and she has planted countless Stargazer lilies among her roses!
