Dr. Tae Yun Kim‘s garden is the perfect backdrop for her teachings and writings. Wherever you are in her garden, there is peace, beauty, harmony, meditation and joy.
It makes me think about what Dr. Tae Yun Kim wrote in her book, “The Silent Master,” about joy and happiness:
“Joy is something that exists all by itself, with or without material goods. Material objects are merely enhancements, not necessities, and so happiness can only be increased, not lost. You are really free when you find a natural joy within you and discover it is a part of you forever. Why? Because nothing can ever rob you of your joy, and your joy will never depend on particular circumstances for it to exist.
Joy is creative attitude. Body and mind are one. When you hold joy in your mind, you old one of the positive feelings that helps you create beautiful free forms in your physical life. Just as love creates loveliness, joy creates happiness that is seen in your relationships, your work, and your home.” (The Silent Master, page 160.)
So wherever we are – even if not in a beautiful garden – let us find joy, peace, harmony and happiness within ourselves.
