Yes, even in a garden, there are underground terrorists, and I am not even going to talk about gophers. Those are obvious. Today I am going to introduce a much more subtle terrorist. As Dr. Tae Yun Kim reminds, us, looks can be deceiving! Look at her for example! At 4’11, people continuously underestimate her abilities. But watch out – Great Dr. Tae Yun Kim can hold her own!
But back to the garden.
Pretty little flower, right? In fact, our younger students at Jung Suwon often pick them for Dr. Tae Yun Kim! And indeed, the flowers are very nice.
But, did you know, that lurking underground, this common weed has a network of root connections that can span for quite a distance? Here is part of such a network:
Dr. Tae Yun Kim points out that just like with weeds, our own weaknesses and faults, it’s like that. Most of them are hidden, and we can’t see them. But even they are not visible, they are there, and they are spreading, without us noticing. And before we realize it, we are so covered with weeds in our lives, such as anger, fear, frustration, and things like that – and we wonder where it all came from.
Dr. Tae Yun Kim says that even the tiniest piece of this kind of root, if left unnoticed, will overrun the garden with weeds. But we we can catch it early and get rid of it, it will be gone for good for a while – we’ll still need to be watchful of course!
In addition to Jung Suwon Classes, Dr. Tae Yun Kim teaches a lot of life -wisdom in her garden. So let’s watch out for those underground terrorists and make sure we don’t let them get a start in our lives!
